Careers

Unity City Academy is committed to delivering Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) across the whole curriculum and across all year groups to the highest possible standards. This is delivered through a series of activities that are appropriate to students’ stages of career learning, planning and development.

We aim to give all of our student’s up to date, relevant information that will help them to reach their personal aspirations and goals to be outstanding in everything they pursue.  Our curriculum provides a breadth of opportunity for students across al ability groups and age ranges.

We are currently working with Careers Inc. Careers Inc is an external, independent and impartial careers guidance service who support our student to aim high in their career goals and aspirations.

Together with Careers Inc we will support our students in their Career Development in a number of ways. We offer information during lessons, tutor groups and assemblies to help students make decisions about their future. Careers Inc alongside school will organise Career events throughout the school year.  Each student has the opportunity to have access to a Careers Adviser who can offer individual Careers meetings, drop in sessions and learning pathway planning.

Please see Unity City Academy’s Careers Inc website – www.careersincportal.co.uk/unitycityacademy

Megan, the Careers Inc. Careers Adviser is in the Academy every Monday. Students in any year can access Megan and speak to her about their Career ideas. This can be done during break, lunch or after school.

Every month the Academy welcomes Post 16 providers during lunchtime so that all students can have access to the local Post 16 providers. This allows them to ask questions and gather information about available courses and career ideas for the future.
