MFC Enterprise Event

Unity City Academy were invited to be part of the Premier League Enterprise Challenge 2016/17 at the Middlesbrough Riverside Stadium, competing against other local schools. This was a challenge for a group of year 9 students which compromised of; developing a business proposal for the club to increase the engagement from fans in the USA, by using the clubs assets and social media.

It was a full day packed from start to finish beginning with an introduction to the challenge which followed with a 2 hour period where we were to finalise our ideas, design a presentation and rehears. The students worked very hard to come up with some exceptional ideas which were getting some interest by staff as they walked round to speak with everyone.

Once the time was up the students stayed in the lounge for lunch which was followed by a stadium tour, including; the walk out tunnel, changing rooms and media suites. As they walked around, the tour guide was trying to catch the students out with questions regarding players and the ground...nothing that our students couldn't answer which they were very impressed with.

After the tour the students made their way to the presentation room, where they had photos and interviews for the Premier League, and were met by the judges including Middlesbrough's first team player, Adam Forshaw. The students had to present their ideas to a room full of people and media and they flourished as they talked through the idea of partnering up with a MLS team and also to develop a youth development partnership.

In the end they were then presented with a certificate of achievement and memorabilia from the club.
